2009 in the Cottage
Blackthorn Cottage has had a very successful first year, with visitors from Donegal, England and Canada, as well as from Belfast and nearer by! Some comments from our visitors:

Forthcoming Events in 2010
As well as looking forward to receiving more holiday guests, we will again be running some small-scale workshops and courses.
- A basket-making course early in the New Year will begin the 2010 programme of small events. Following the success of workshops in October and December, with local artist. Greg Moore, we are looking forward to further art classes, using a range of media.
- The Therapeutic Training Company will be returning in the spring to hold its recovery course for people with M.E. / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
One of the participants on the last course said, ‘My life has changed dramatically beyond recognition! From the first day of the training I gained a great energy and felt like everything around me was brighter, like a blanket had been lifted around me. Now I have great health, I have the confidence and ability to do whatever I want!’ A further comment was that Blackthorn Cottage is ‘a very peaceful and restful location; perfect for the training.’
- Those who missed the enjoyable fiddle workshop that took place in September with Johnny Murphy will be delighted to know that they can still avail of the opportunity to play with, or take a lesson from, another local young fiddler.
